PHOENIX –

Valley school kids are getting a brand new place to play, thanks to some kind community volunteers and a national nonprofit.

Over 200 volunteers joined in the KaBOOM! Playground Building Event.

It took place at Imagine Schools at Camelback, near 19th Avenue and Camelback.

Organizers from the national nonprofit KaBOOM! as well as valley-based company Shutterfly worked to get the project in place.

The play space was actually designed by the students of Imagine School, and will serve over 600 children in the Phoenix community.

“It’s like the culmination of all the students’ dreams come true. We started 6 years ago and I have seen the transformation from a little tiny school to being the center of the community and we are so excited,” said teacher Alma Gonzalez.

The playground is the second one built by the KaBOOM! and Shutterfly Foundation.
