Imagine Schools is pleased to announce the promotion of Susan Onori and Jennifer Fornes, Ed.D., to Executive Vice President. They join Diane Thorne, who continues serving as Executive Vice President. Together, they will lead the newly unified One Florida region.
The One Florida vision represents a strategic step forward, strengthening alignment, collaboration, and shared leadership across all Imagine Schools campuses in Florida. By unifying the region under a collaborative executive team, Imagine Schools is reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, strong school culture, and operational strength.
Together, with Diane serving as chairperson, they will lead our newly chartered One Florida council. This intentional effort is designed to strengthen collaboration, support, and collective impact across all 17 Imagine Florida schools. As partners, they will work closely throughout the year to support leaders, advance student outcomes, and ensure our schools continue to thrive.
About Jennifer Fornes, Ed.D.
Dr. Jennifer Fornes has more than 25 years of experience serving students, educators, and school communities across Florida. Since joining Imagine Schools in 2000, she has served as a teacher, curriculum leader, principal, Region Academic Coordinator, Region Education Director, and Region Director. She has led school turnaround efforts, mentored principals, strengthened governance partnerships, and supported charter growth initiatives while ensuring strong academic and operational performance. Dr. Fornes holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. She is recognized for her strategic leadership and deep commitment to high-quality, student-centered schools.
About Susan Onori
Susan Onori brings more than 38 years of experience in education, including leadership roles in both traditional public and charter schools. She began her career as a classroom teacher and later served as a Title I Coordinator, Charter School Coordinator for Broward County Public Schools, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Regional Director. Since joining Imagine Schools in 2001, she has supported instructional quality, leadership development, and student achievement across diverse school communities. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She is known for her collaborative leadership style and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.
